CodeGate Terms of Use
Last updated: 27 October 2026
These terms describe the CodeGate local software, plugin and documentation published by Sathwik R through the CodeGate GitHub project.
Free, open-source software
CodeGate is free and distributed under the MIT License reproduced below. No CodeGate purchase, subscription or account is required. The MIT License governs permission to use, copy, modify and distribute the software. These terms do not narrow those permissions.
Running checks
Use CodeGate only with repositories and systems you are authorized to access. You choose the checks in codegate.toml and are responsible for reviewing those commands and their results. Project commands run with your user permissions and environment; they can modify files or contact other services. CodeGate is not a sandbox.
A passing result means the configured checks passed for the inputs checked at that time. It does not establish that software is correct, secure or ready for production. Local hooks can be bypassed. Use trusted required CI checks and code review when you need server-side enforcement.
Clients, integrations and support
GitHub, your AI client and any service contacted by your project commands are separate services with their own terms, settings and charges, if any. CodeGate does not process payments for them. Its data handling is described in the CodeGate Privacy Policy.
Support and contributions use GitHub. Maintainers review contributions as time allows; no response time or acceptance is guaranteed. Follow the project's security-reporting instructions for vulnerabilities.
